Topic:
More and more people are paying attention not only to which nutrients they consume, but also to where the individual components of a product come from. This is not always clear at first glance, especially with dietary supplements.
Because even if the active ingredient itself is of plant origin, this does not automatically mean that the entire product is vegan.
When is a dietary supplement vegan?
A vegan dietary supplement does not use any ingredients of animal origin.
In doing so, not only the main ingredient should be considered. Other ingredients can also be crucial, for example:
-
the capsule shell
-
anti-caking and coating agents
-
flavorings
-
colorings
-
processing aids
-
carriers
Capsule shells, in particular, play an important role here.
Traditional capsules can, for example, be made from gelatin. Vegan alternatives, on the other hand, are often made from plant-based materials such as hydroxypropyl methylcellulose – HPMC for short.
Why is it worth taking a look at the entire list of ingredients?
The front of a product usually only lists the most important properties and ingredients.
Anyone who wants to know exactly what is contained should therefore always take a look at the full list of ingredients.
Transparency is an important part of making an informed product choice for us at Daily Form.
We want you to be able to understand what is contained in a product – and just as importantly: what is not.
Vegan does not automatically mean better
An important distinction:
The term "vegan" initially says something about the origin of the ingredients used. It is not automatically a judgment of quality regarding the composition of a dietary supplement.
When choosing a product, therefore, several factors should be considered:
Composition: Which substances are actually contained?
Dosage: How much of the respective ingredient does the recommended daily serving contain?
Manufacturing: Where and under what quality standards is it produced?
Labeling: Are ingredients, allergens, and consumption recommendations clearly stated?
Transparency: Can the consumer understand what they are buying?
These points are at least as important as individual labels on a package.
What about products made from bovine gelatin?
Not every high-quality dietary supplement can or necessarily has to be vegan.
In certain products, bovine gelatin can be used. For us, clear labeling is above all crucial.
You should be able to tell before purchase whether a product is vegan or contains ingredients of animal origin.
This is why we clearly distinguish between vegan products and products in which, for example, bovine gelatin is an ingredient in the formulation.

Anyone who wants to buy vegan dietary supplements should not exclusively look at the front of the packaging.
The entire composition is crucial – from the active ingredient to the capsule shell.
At Daily Form, we want to make this information as clear as possible for you.
So that you can decide for yourself which product suits your everyday life and your personal requirements.
